Boomer-rat have seen it all.
TLDR : Seems like it.
At 180 points (now 160), Krittok is in a weird position. Six-wounds-warmaster-buffer-fighter. Jack of all trades, master of none ? Not quite. He is competing either against the Arch-warlock (170 points wizard cp-economist) or the cheaper Grey Seer (120 points warpstonedtm wizard). Why would we want to bring a non-wizard to the table ?
1) Warmaster with any-skaven regiment option. Krittok is a list-building blessing for the rest of this GHB. He’s taking a bullet for Thanquol and the 2+/2+ Chosen or Vanguard-Raptors that were after him.
Poor General keyword is back to being useless, sad.
2) Bonus to wound wholly within 13′ for Stormvermins. You’re gaining at least 30% in damage. And that’s crucial as their only job is to be efficient : they need to cost you the less ressources possible for the maximum effect. For that we can either buy a priest (minimum 140 points for a conditionnal buff) or Krittok (160 points for a reliable buff and more).
Another interesting data is that this allow Stormvermins to outdamage charging Doom-Flayers.

3) He’s a little toolbox inside his own toolbox :
- Quite the tough guy. Six wounds on a 4+ save/5+ ward (often -1 to be wounded). It is a challenge to estimate how much damage is needed to put him down.
- His fighting first for about 4 damage on a 3+, if you add Thanquol’s rampage for 2 MW it’s two Chosens or two Skullreapers, which will change their output a lot.
- Little pew-pew gun for maximum style.
4) The real treat : two Clawstep moves instead of one. It costs a CP and that’s what repel players at first but this is huge and have lots of applications. Most of them require a bonus to move to be used effectively like our super new toy : the Screaming Bell.
The reliable redeploy :

I need to move away my screen but those mean Raptors will shoot my Bell if I don’t hide it in an obscuring terrain. As it is more than 2′ away, a redeploy of one would result in a terrible situation. Thanks Krittok for assuring a fixed value.
The safe all-in :

I’m playing last this turn, I can safely deepstrike a Doom-flayer unit and a Ratling unit in front of my screens. If I have the double it’s a certified banger, if I don’t I can bravely fall back back.
The bait and switch :

My yummy-yummy Ratlings are out in the open, defenseless, it would be a real shame if my opponent wanted to take a double just to reach them.
To conclude, Krittok is a little swiss army knife in an already toolboxy army. His value is the sum of many little things and you’ll need to sweat a bit for a positive return on investment. But try him for a few games, he’s not that shy and opens up lots of big brain plays.
